New Mexico Military Institute's Drianyeliz Ramos Cora, Michelle Mlikan, Eduarda Bicalho and Carola Schnidrig all signed to play at the next level. This 2026 sophomore class for Bronco Volleyball contributed to an overall record of 56-15 over the past two seasons.
Ramos Cora signed to play at D1 Houston Christian University in Texas. A front-row standout for the Bronco volleyball team, helped lead her squad to a dominant 32-4 overall record during the 2024 campaign, a perfect 14-0 mark in conference, and a No. 3 seed at the NJCAA's D1 Women's Volleyball National Championships. She led NMMI in block assists with 128, and 137 total blocks. She helped lead NMMI to another NJCAA's D1 Women's Volleyball National Championship in 2025.
"Dri probably had more offers than anybody. Division one offers through naia, and she specifically chose her school for very specific reasons … And that's what you want," said Bronco volleyball head coach Shelby Forchtner.
"I love the Texas area, and I really like the program. It's a Christian university, so it's also helping me in that area. And it's like a really close environment, everybody's friendly.I went on a visit, and it's really fun," said Ramos Cora when asked why she chose Houston Christian University.
Mlikan signed to play at D2 Menlo College in California. The Japan native helped lead NMMI to back-to-back trips to the NJCAA's D1 Women's Volleyball National Championships. In 2025, she produced a .222 hitting percentage while tallying over 375 kills. She averaged 2.76 kills per set while racking up 490 digs - second most on the squad.
"For us it's just really important that they learn really good life skills here, at NMMI to be able to take into the next program. We don't want them to just go in there and start and be really good volleyball players. We want them to go in and be good leaders and I have no doubt Michelle can do that," said head coach Shelby Forchtner.
"Well, first of all, I really wanted to go to California. And then when I went on a visit, everybody was really nice, then the location was like what I was looking for. All the majors and stuff is something that I wanted to use for my future, so that's why I choose Menlo College," said Mlikan on why she chose to sign with Menlo College.
Bicalho signed to play at NAIA William Carey University in Mississippi. The sophomore setter tallied 70 matches played in two seasons for NMMI. In 2025, Bicalho tallied 519 total assists - second most on the squad, averaging 3.87 assists per set. For her career, Bicalho averaged 4.15 assists per set while totaling 1055 career assists. The Brazilian also tallied 474 digs in her two seasons for the Broncos.
"We actually had a lot of kids with a lot of offers, Duda had tons of schools looking at her, but quite a few of them didn't have nursing, and she wasn't willing to compromise her education … and that's what you want," head coach Shelby Forchtner.
"I think NMMI, it built me differently. Made me have more mental confidence to play and think more stronger. It made me be better, more disciplined mentally, etc," said Bicalho and what she will be taking away from the Institute and how it's helped prepare her for this next step.
Schnidrig signed to play for NAIA Cumberland University in Tennessee. For her career she averaged 1.42 kills per set while featuring in 57 total matches as a Bronco. She tallied 238 total kills in two seasons while recording 166 total digs for NMMI. Defensively, she had 58 total blocks.
"It's sad to lose really good kids year after year. We graduate these kids and they move on to the next level. And you love to watch them be successful in other people's programs, but it's always hard to lose them and replace them," head coach Shelby Forchtnerb
"The coach contacted me last semester, and she was like, we want you here. We want you to come visit. Then I've been on FaceTime with her and with some of the players. Then I went to visit, and I actually really liked it," said Schnidrig on why she chose Cumberland University.
The 2026 Bronco Volleyball sophomore class was able to send four of the six members to compete at the next level.
