The eighth-seeded NMMI Colts will head to Albuquerque, NM for the quarterfinal round of the New Mexico Activities Association’s Class 3A State Baseball Championships to take on the top-seeded East Mountain Timberwolves, with the first pitch scheduled for 3:30 pm on Thursday, May 13 at Field #3 in the Jennifer Riordan Spark Kindness Sports Complex.

The Colts took game one 7-6 and followed up with a 6-5 win in the second game. With the pair of wins, the Colts improved to 11-15 overall and 8-7 in district play. With the losses, Ruidoso moves to 7-8 in district play with a 11-14 overall record.

On Tuesday afternoon New Mexico Military Institute moved to 2-2 in district play and 5-9 overall with a 10-0 loss to East Mountain High School at the NMMI Ballpark. With the win, East Mountain improved to 14-1 overall with a 4-0 mark in district play.
