Q4

With a double-digit lead the NMMI defense did not let up as they held Hatch Valley to just six points in the final eight minutes of the contest. Caydence Roberts tallied all six points for the Bears in the final period. For the Lady Colts, the final quarter saw five different scorers as NMMI shared the ball. Neveah Clark scored five of the Colts 15 fourth-quarter points. Aleyah Andrews added four more to her total as the Colts secured the 51-20 win.

Head Coach Lawerence Hall on the win, “our defense looked a lot better than last night. We forced tough shots and didn’t allow them to score more than seven points a quarter,” Hall said. “Despite being down early the girls were not phased … they were able to weather the early momentum by Hatch,” Hall said. “We do have some things to work on. We let them take too many shots and we need to grab more rebounds to help us out. However, I am proud of the team effort and how we played defense,” Hall said.
