H1
Right from the kickoff it was all Colts. Through the first five minutes of the contest, NMMI applied pressure and did not allow the Goddard attack to establish any offensive rhythm. As the pressure was applied, it led to various opportunities for the Colts.
Near the 8-minute mark, Wagner Ferreira Morato Cunha gave the Colts a 1-0 lead after he slotted away a cross that lingered in the box. With two defenders around, Ferreira Morato Cunha hit it first time as the ball ended in the back of the net.
Goddard tried to attack the NMMI goal but Rudolfo Anaya stopped any crossing opportunities and came up with a few big saves in the first half of the game. About 20 minutes after his first goal, Ferreira Morato Cunha found the back of the net once again to give NMMI a 2-0 advantage 25 minutes into the game.
H2
The first 35 minutes of the second half was a defensive battle. The Colts played a defensive second half as Goddard had the majority of the possession in the second half. NMMI had some opportunities in the second half but none that really tested the Goddard keeper.
Around the 75-minute mark, Goddard was able to sneak a goal in to make it a 2-1 game. The NMMI defense held strong and fought off any opportunities the Rockets attempted to keep them at one goal in the contest.
